Dormaa Assembly donates to Moslems

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), Aug. 25, GNA – Dormaa Municipal Assembly has donated 33 bags of sugar worth GHC 2,310 to support Muslims in the municipality during the month-long Ramadan.

Mr Vincent Oppong Asamoah, Municipal Chief Executive, presented the items and were received by Sheik Zakaria Ibrahim, Municipal Chief Imam.

He said peace in Ghana was not only because of available human and material resources but also because of the incessant fasting and prayers offered by religious organisations.

Mr Asamoah said while the government made efforts to provide infrastructure and material development, key organisations including religious bodies owed it as a civic responsibility to ensure absolute peace and tranquillity.

Sheik Ibrahim thanked the Assembly for consistently donating items towards the successful observance of Ramadan by Muslims in the municipality and gave assurance of their continued support in the execution of development projects.

He called on Moslems in the municipality to offer special prayers for the Assembly and the government to enable them to realize their goals for the people.
