Dormaa-Ahenkro Catholic Credit Union makes C93m profit

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), Oct. 30, GNA – The Dormaa-Ahenkro Parish branch of Brong Ahafo Catholic Cooperative for Savings and Development (BACCSOD), a credit union, recorded a net profit of 93 million cedis last year.

The Union also granted a total of 907 million cedis in loans to its customers mainly traders, transport owners, farmers and mechanics, Nana Yeboah Ababio, Chairman of the Union’s Board of Directors, has said at its Annual General Meeting at Dormaa-Ahenkro.

He said BACCSOD’s total savings for the year under review was 1.8 billion cedis, adding that the achievements were unprecedented. Nana Ababio people would be encouraged to save with the Union to enable them to obtain financial assistance to open or expand their businesses.

He advised members to invest loans in profitable ventures so that they could repay them to keep the Union in operation.
