Dorimon Naa calls for cooperation between Ministers

Dorimon(UWR), Aug. 29, GNA – Dorimon Naa, Sohimwinye Danaa Gore II, Paramount Chief of Dorimon Traditional Area in Wa West District on Tuesday, called for maximum cooperation between Regional Ministers and their Deputies for the development of their Regions. He noted that without cooperation between them, they could not successfully implement government policies and programmes for the Region’s socio-economic development.

Dorimon Naa gave the advice when Mr George Hikah Benson, Upper West Regional Minister and his Deputy Mrs Winifred Dy-Yakah paid a courtesy call on him at his palace at Dorimon. They introduced themselves to the chief and asked for his support in the administration of the Region. The Dorimon Naa’s advice was in reference to allegations that before the changes in ministerial appointments there existed ‘bad blood’ between some Regional Ministers and their Deputies in some Regions in northern part of Ghana.

He therefore, urged Regional Ministers and their Deputies to bury their differences and unite to foster harmonious relations among ethnic groups in their Regions.

Mr Benson addressing the chief and his people, appealed to them to register with the National Health Insurance Scheme for affordable and quality health care delivery.

He said they should in addition, take advantage of the school feeding programme to send their children to school. Mr Benson and Mrs Dy-Yakah also paid courtesy call on Wechiau Naa, Imoru Nandon Gomah at his palace at Wechiau.

The Wechiau Naa appealed to the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council to ensure the contractor working on their electrification project completed the project on schedule to connect the town to the national grid by the end of the year.

They later inspected progress of work on a GH=A242,000 Police Station and GH=A239,000 Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre for the town.
