Don’t take the peace and stability for granted – Mills cautions

Don’t take the peace and stability we are enjoying for granted-Prez Mills cautions

President John Evans Atta Mills has admonished those in leadership positions not to take Ghana’s peace and stability for granted. ‘’We make the mistake of thinking that we have the power, we don’t have! It is only God who has the power.’’ He said

He indicated that developments elsewhere should be guiding principle for Ghanaians to jealously and loyally guide and protect the country’s fledgling democracy.

According to him, what happened in Mali is not something which could be swept under the carpet, it is important that as a people ‘’we pray that God gives us guidance and direction. This country is in the hands of God’’. He said

President Mills who was full of the holy spirit on the resurrection Sunday at the Legon, Interdenominational Church (LIC) as he delivered a brief speech said, he believed with more prayers and supplication, determination and closeness to God there is nothing Ghana couldn’t do.

‘’I am hopeful a lot more people realize the need for us to go to the almighty for strength, courage, wisdom, understanding and draw up a program for the country.’’

President John Mills who was handed the microphone by the M.C amid joy and a deep sense of belonging emphasized that there is nothing too hard for God to do, we must always trust and obey. The President used to worship with the LIC in his university days.

‘’my brothers and sisters in Christ a joyous occasion such as this, it is important that one goes home, this is home for me, this is where it all started and it is important that from time to time I come to get spiritual strength and God’s blessings.’’ President Mills said

Both pastors and members of the congregation were very excited at seeing the president of the republic of Ghana visit his roots, to most of them the professor they know had not changed, he is still the very simple, humble, God fearing and an honest and caring man they knew.

‘’The Lord has risen and that gives us hope, courage and strength to go on because the end is attainable.’’ He stated.
