Don’t poison the joy of Christmas with immoral acts

Kumasi, Dec. 25, GNA – The Very Reverend Father John Opoku, Parish Priest of the Saint Paul’s Catholic Church at Amakom, Kumasi, has counsel= led Ghanaians, particularly the youth, not to mar the joy of Christmas with sinful acts, such as drunkenness and promiscuity. He said they should rather reach out to the outstretched hand of God t= o enjoy his bountiful love and peace.

The Rev Father Opoku said the occasion of Christmas should provide opportunity for renewal of 93our religious faith”, unification of the fa= mily and exchange of gifts.

He gave the advice at a Christmas church service at Amakom, in Kumasi. The Catholic Priest called on families to use the festive period to unite and reconcile, to bring peace to society. The Rev Father Opoku said they should also pray to God to embed their hearts with peace, so that they would live in total harmony with their neighbours.

Again, they must lead Christ-like life of love, humility and modesty, so as to become good examples to society and stay closer to God. He told the young people in the church to be disciplined, law abiding and to give respect to the elderly and those in authority.
