Don’t misuse guns…IGP warns trigger-happy cops

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Peter Nanfuri, has warned that the Police Administration will punish police personnel who resort to the use of firearms at their own pleasure or at the least provocation or in completely unwarranted circumstances. He emphasized that service instructions enjoin all policemen and women to use firearms under justifiable circumstances only. The IGP issued the warning at the closing of a six-week course for 50 Chief Inspectors at the Police Academy in Kumasi.
