Don’t link me to STX Deal”-Boniface Saddique

Former Minister for Water Resources Works and Housing says he sees it as an indictment on his person, to be linked to the STX Korea deal.

Alhaji Boniface Abubakar Saddique said on Asempa Fm that he has never shown interest in the government of Ghana-STX Korea deal, for the construction of about 200,000 affordable housing units.

A section of the media had reported that the Alhaji Saddique was present at the signing ceremony among other top government officials.

Alhaji Saddique however said on Ekosii Sen that he was not even in Accra at the time the signing ceremony was held.

The former minister although welcomed the allocation of 30,000 housing units component of the project to security agencies, he declined to further comments on it.

On the other hand, Deputy Works and Housing Minister Dr. Hanna Louisa Bisiw has denied that the government planted the report in the media to cause any malice to the former minister.

Dr. Bisiw says she is estranged by the reaction of the former Minister who created the impression that linking him to the STX deal amounts to criminality.

She says Alhaji Saddique should rather be happy he was linked to the signing ceremony since it would have been an honuor for him to be been invited.
