Don’t label CDD report as propaganda piece – Dr. Kwarpong

A Research Analyst Dr. John Osae-Kwapong has stated that its wrong to label the latest survey conducted by the Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD) as a propaganda piece to suit the agenda of a certain political party.

According to a CDD report, seven out of ten people believe that the country is heading in the wrong direction.

Members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) have described the survey as a propaganda of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

But speaking on Ultimate breakfast show hosted by Lantam Papanko he dismissed claims that CDD is doing the bidding of the NPP.

He said the survey is well researched and that the methodology is ‘very transparent’.

Dr. Osae-Kwapong urged political parties to desist from tagging civil society organisations.

‘Once you put such a survey in the public domain, comments like this should be expected. Am not surprised to see political parties give that kind of reaction that CDD is being biased to suit the political agenda of a political party. I have followed CDD over the years and I believe they do their work with lots of integrity. I don’t think that it will be a fair characterisation of the report to be dismissed and label it as a propaganda report. I refuse to believe that CDD is in the business of being propaganda. That is not the CDD I know, there are lots of valuable things in there that we need to look at whether you are ruling or in opposition,’ he said.
