Don’t give promises for which you cannot honour – Deputy Minister

Nkawie (Ash), Nov. 3, GNA- Mr Stephen Asamoah Boateng, a Deputy Minister of Information, has cautioned Members of Parliament and District Chief Executives to desist from giving promises that they know they cannot honour.

He called for co-operation between MPs and District Chief Executives to facilitate the provision of social amenities in their constituencies to raise the living conditions of the people. Mr Asamoah Boateng was addressing workers, assembly members and chiefs in the Atwima District during his weeklong tour of nine districts in the Ashanti Region.

He commended the Atwima District Assembly for utilising its share of the Common Fund, HIPC fund and traditional sources of revenue in putting up a number of projects in the district.

Mr Asamoah Boateng appealed to heads of departments and employees of the district assembly to let discipline and perfection be their watchword and asked district information officers to be bold to comment and point out shoddy work in their districts.

Mr Charles Yeboah, the Atwima District Chief Executive, assured the Deputy Minister that the assembly would continue to provide social amenities for the people.
