Don’t convey party supporters in cargo trucks – NCCE Director

Elmina (C/R), Oct 2, GNA – The Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem

Municipal Director of National Commission for Civic Education

(NCCE), Neenyi Kofi Tagoe, has advised political parties to desist from

transporting their supporters in cargo trucks to durbars and rallies,

saying it is not safe. “The safety and comfort of your supporters must be considered

when taking them to political rallies,” he reiterated. Neenyi Tagoe, who is also Chief of Osubonpanyin in the Effutu

Municipality, was addressing a forum on violent-free elections organised by the Commission at Elmina on Tuesday. He urged political leaders to ensure that their supporters did not carry

any offensive weapons on them when attending rallies. Neenyi Tagoe appealed to them to desist from what he called

“mudslinging politics,” noting that it could lead to conflict situations. He urged the electorate to critically scrutinise campaign messages of

the various politicians in order to make a good choice. “Don’t be carried away by vain promises,” he cautioned.
