Madam Ama Benyinwa-Doe, Central Regional Minister, has appealed to Ghanaians not to make a mistake of voting the New Patriotic Party (NPP) back to power because the party has nothing better to offer the people.
She said the eight years’ rule of the NPP did not benefit the people of the Central Region, and appealed to the people to reject the lies and fabrications of the NPP.
Madam Benyinwa-Doe made the call at the launch of the parliamentary campaign of Mr. Mike Allen Hammah, Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, in Winneba on Tuesday.
Mr. Hammah, who is also the Member of Parliament for Effutu, is seeking re-election to Parliament on the ticket of the National Democratic Party (NDC).
Madam Benyinwa-Doe stressed that the NDC Government in three-and-half year has implemented more developmental projects in the region than the NPP in its eight years rule.
The Regional Minister appealed to people in the region to retain the NDC in power to enable the party to continue with its Better Ghana Agenda, to improve the livelihood of Ghanaians.
She asked supporters of the NDC not to be complacent with the successes of the party, but to continue to woo the electorate to vote massively for President John Mahama, NDC presidential candidate for Election 2012, and Mr Hammah, in December.
Mr. Solomon Nkansah, National Deputy Propaganda Secretary of the NDC, asked Ghanaians to vote for the NDC because it is the only party that is committed to improving the welfare of the people.
Mr. Yaw Boateng Gyan, NDC National Organizer, advised the people of Effutu to vote for Mr. Hammah, who has contributed to the development of the constituency.
He cited the extension of electricity and provision of water to communities, construction of school infrastructure, establishment of educational endowment fund, which benefited more than 200 brilliant but needy students in the area.
Brigadier (rtd) Nunoo Mensah, National Security Adviser, who deputized for Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, officially introduced Mr. Hammah to the people as the NDC parliamentary candidate for Effutu.
He appealed to the electorate to vote massively for Mr. Hammah as their MP and President John Mahama as President on December 7.
Mr. Hammah gave the assurance that if retained in Parliament in December, he will work harder to bring more development to the people.
