Worapong (Ash), July 15, GNA – Mr Benjamin Asonaba Dapaah, a Member of the Council of State, has advised Ghanaians not to allow divergence of political opinion to undermine the peace and progress of the country.
He said the only way to ensure the growth of democracy was for the people and key political actors to accept to accommodate, respect and tolerate each other’s political views.
Mr Dapaah was addressing the chiefs and people of Worapong, a farming community in the Atwima District, as part of a tour of the area. He said “under no circumstance should we allow ourselves to be torn apart and be at each other’s throat because of partisan politics”. Mr Dapaah appealed to the people to draw lessons from the conflicts in some parts of Africa and resolve to sustain the prevailing peace and harmony.
Mr Charles Yeboah, District Chief Executive, told them that the Offinso-Bonsua-Worapong feeder road would soon be put in good shape to facilitate easy evacuation of cocoa and food crops from the area.
