Don’t adopt foreign cultures blindly – Queen Mother

Krobo (B/A) Sept. 8, GNA – Nana Amobea Dufie II, Queenmother of Krobo, near Techiman in Brong-Ahafo, has expressed concern about the blind adoption of foreign cultures by the youth. She said this had led them to engage in in-disciplined acts, which had attracted public criticism.

Speaking to the GNA at Techiman, she declared her intention to organise a forum during the celebration of the area’s annual Munufie Yam Festival to address the problem of indecent dressing and acts of indiscipline among the youth.

Nana Dufie said by-laws would be enacted at the forum to check the problem of street children and child neglect and to deal with parents who refused to send their children, especially the girls, to school. Nana Dufie expressed gratitude to the chiefs and elders of Krobo for their unity and co-operation towards the development of the area.
