Domeabra residents raises fund for electricity

Domeabra (B/A), March 2, GNA – Residents of Domeabra in the Nkoranza District of Brong Ahafo are raising funds to connect the area to the national electricity grid.

Each man is contributing 50,000 cedis, while a woman pays 30,000 Cedis. Non-residents are contributing 70,000 cedis and 50,000 cedis respectively.

Mr Johnson Duako, chairman of the electrification project committee told Ghana News Agency that, the people had erected 30 low-tension poles.

He said they needed about 30 additional poles to complete the project and a fund raising harvest would be held on Easter Sunday. Mr Duako announced that the Nkoranza District Assembly had provided the community with 50 bags of cement for the construction of concrete poles to supplement their efforts.

He commended the youth for their contributions to the development of the area and called on non-resident citizens to visit home during the Easter to contribute to the programme. 2 March 2005
