Dog eat dog mentality should cease to avoid disasters – Rawlings

Former president Jerry John Rawlings has called on Ghanaians to stop inappropriate acts that collectively causes disasters such as Wednesday’s flooding and the explosion of the Goil fuel station at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle.

Addressing a group of people in Accra this morning in commemoration of the June 4 revolution, former president Rawlings cautioned against apathy among Ghanaians affecting others.

He made reference to the death tolls recorded from the explosion and flooding which is collectively above hundred with many recorded injuries.

“Who is going to pay their children’s school fees, who is going to take care of their families? This dog eat dog mentality should cease,” he warned.

Meanwhile, President Mahama has toured areas affected by the floods blaming houses on water ways and littering as the primary cause of the loss of lives. He said measures will be taken to pull down houses in water ways calling for the public to understand these measures to save everyone else.
