Doctor’s residence raided by thieves

Kumasi, May 4, GNA – A medical doctor had his residence ransacked by two armed robbers when he was out on duty on Monday night. The robbers made away with cash of two million cedis, a 20-inch television, a DVD player, a radio set, a bicycle and some personal effects.

Speaking to the GNA on the robbery, Dr Theodore Ofosu, who works at the Kumasi South Hospital at Kyirapatre and lives with his four children in a private residence at Atonsu, said he could not stand the shock of the sight of his home thrown into complete disarray and confusion when he returned the next morning around 0400 hours from work.

His children who were fast asleep by the time he arrived home, later with trepidation, recounted their ordeal when they were aroused out of sleep by some unusual noise in the house.

According to the fear-stricken children, the eldest of who is about 13 years, they were all cowed into one corner of a room when the robbers threatened to kill them if they made the least noise. “They then had to oblige and watch the robbers loot the house and carry away their booty”, the doctor added.

The medical officer then reported the robbery to the Asokwa police where investigations are still going on. When contacted, the Asokwa police confirmed the incident.
