Do not use police uniform to swindle the public

Agona Swedru, May 23, GNA – Nana Ogyabea Badu Ehuren, a retired Magistrate, has cautioned police personnel, who use their uniforms to swindle and steal, to stop the act because it is against the ethics and conduct of the Police Service.

He said if these nefarious activities are not stopped, it could undermine the integrity of the Police Service, which would also make the public to lose confidence and trust in the Service. Nana Ehuren, who is also Sanaahene of Agona Swedru, made this known at a send-off party organized in honour of Police Superintendent Raymond A. Martey, who is retiring from the Ghana Police Service after 34 years service at Swedru.

He charged the Police administration to endeavour to weed out corrupt and bad nuts, who had found themselves into the Service in order to maintain its reputation. Nana Ehuren appealed to the Police Service to put in place adequate strategies that could make it impossible for people with bad characters to join it. Superintendent RTD Martey expressed appreciation to the officers and men of the Agona Swedru Division of the Police Service and staff of Judicial Service for their cooperation during his stay at Agona Swedru. 23 May 10
