Do not reduce Christmas to boozing – Pastor Aidoo

Pastor Mike Kwesi Aidoo, Head Pastor of the Liberty Centre Assemblies of God Church in Takoradi on Wednesday said Christmas was not only about “Chicken, boozing and eating” and entreated people to rather reflect on the importance of Jesus’ birth.

He said the birth of Christ was rather to bring liberation and deliverance to mankind and therefore expressed indignation over some unholy activities both Christians and non-Christians engaged in just to celebrate the Messiah. Pastor Aidoo was speaking at a Church service to mark the Christmas day today on the theme: “Christmas and Jesus.”

He said such unholy engagements rather make people vulnerable to the schemes of the enemy adding, “But the son was given to us to save us from our enemies.”

According to him, the Christian community was gradually missing the mark and the importance of the season and called on fellow pastors to hammer the significance of the yuletide.
