Do not discriminate among Church Members – Pastors Advised

Accra, Sept. 7, GNA – The Reverend Patrick Kofi Ntim Manteaw, Pastor in charge of the Asylum Down Presbyterian Church, on Sunday advised pastors and leaders of various churches not to discriminate amongst their church members, but to rather ensure that every individual felt part of the church.

“Tap talents and potentials in the church and get everybody involved in the development of the church; visit the poor and the disadvantaged and let them feel the love of God,” he said. The Rev. Manteaw was preaching at his farewell service on the theme: “Be Strong, Do not Fear, Have Faith in God.”

Reading from the book of James (Chapter 2 verses 1-7), he said the love of Christ does not discriminate against people. Hence Christians, especially Christian leaders, must show love equally to all members including the rich and the poor. The Rev Manteaw had served in the Asylum Down Congregation for three years while doing his Degree in Divinity at the Trinity Theological Seminary.

During those three years stay with the church, he introduced various health and social programmes to educate members about the need to live a healthy and good Christian lifestyle. He introduced a yearly mini fair to help promote entrepreneurs in the church, and said it was important for the church to attend to the physical needs of its members.
