Do not change chieftaincy minister-designate – Disables warn Mahama

The Ghana Federation of the Disabled has cautioned President Mahama not to bow to pressure from some chiefs in replacing the Minister-designate for Chieftaincy and Traditional Affairs.

Dr Henry Seidu Dannaa will become the first physically challenged minister when given the nod by the Appointments Committee of Parliament.

But before the visually impaired lawyer faces the Appointments Committee, some chiefs are agitating for his replacement as their customs bars them from dealing with physically challenged persons.

Speaking to XYZ News, President of the Disabled Federation Yaw Ofori Debrah says the agitations are unnecessary and warned President Mahama not to heed the calls of the Chiefs.

Mr. Debrah also asked the President and National House of Chiefs to condemn the agitations.
