Tarkwa (W/R), Oct 26, GNA – The Wassa West District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme (WWDMHIS) on Thursday signed an agreement with the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) Clinic as one of its service providers at Tarkwa.

Mr Joseph Akomaning, Board Chairman of WWDMHIS, said the collaboration would boost client confidence in the service. He said the scheme would sign another contract with Effia Nkwanta hospital in Sekondi-Takoradi and the Occupational Health Clinic at Tarkwa, saying all these were to ensure proper and competitive healthcare for the people in Wassa West. Prof Daniel Mireku-Gyimah, Vice Chancellor, UMaT, who signed on behalf of the University, said hoped that after signing the agreement, the Scheme would fulfil its part by promptly reimbursing claims submitted by the clinic.

He suggested that the yearly renewal and issuance of attendant’s cards should be reviewed to five years or even ten years.
