District Chief Executive calls for unity

The Municipal Chief Executive of Ejisu-Juaben, Mr. Kwaku Afrifa Yamoah Ponko, has appealed to Ghanaians to overcome division and combine efforts to achieve the nation’s development agenda.

He said everybody should be patriotic and accept to have a part to play to move the country forward and added that nobody, regardless of station or circumstance, should sit on the sidelines satisfied either in complacency or cynicism.

Mr Yamoah, who was interacting with students, said they should not allow themselves to be torn apart on the basis of ethnicity, religion or politics and must accept to work with the common goal of protecting the unity, peace and harmony of the society.

Mr. Ponko said indeed there were challenges but these could be surmounted through hard work, demonstration of high sense of discipline and nationalism.

He expressed optimism that with collective commitment and determination, Ghana would live its dream and told the students to focus on their studies and stay away from acts that could ruin their academic careers.
