District Assembly honours hard workers

The Akatsi-North District Assembly has held its maiden Workers Awards Day, with a call on workers to project the image of their institutions.

Mr James Gunu, District Chief Executive (DCE), commended the workers, saying “when we started as a district three years ago, we hopped, then stepped and in the coming years, we would jump or perhaps fly”.

Mr Gunu said the rationale for all operations of the Assembly should be that which will ensure institutional integrity and equitable treatment for all stakeholders.

He urged every worker to assume the front-desk role and serve as the face of the Assembly everywhere.

He said there was the need to establish a library within the block to promote research adding that the continuous passing or approval of the Functional Organizational Assessment Tool (FOAT) by the Assembly was one of its achievements.

Mr Seth Okai Affum, an Assistant Accountant, who was adjudged the best worker received a Laptop.

Madam Vivian Afi Galley, a Secretary, adjudged the second best worker got a 42 inch Samsung LED Television, while Ignatius Klu Wetsu, a Principal Technical Officer-Agriculture, got an LG Table Top Refrigerator.
