The District Chief Executive of Abura-Asebu- Kwamankese, Mr Williams Atta-Mends, has said the government was on course with development projects in the district.
He said over the past three years the Assembly had completed 65 projects with the District Assemblies’ Common Fund and Internally Generated Fund. Mr Atta-Mends said this when he joined the chiefs and people of the Asebu Traditional Area to celebrate Apayamkese festival at Asebu under the theme “Celebrating our Culture for Development”.
He said only seven projects were at various stages of completion but the rest were completed with 21 of them located in various communities within the Asebu traditional area.
He mentioned some of the completed projects as teachers’ quarters at Abakrampa, a three-unit classroom block at Ahomfie, provision of electricity to Abakrampa Clinic, public toilet and a rehabilitated market at Dunkwa.
The others are an area council office block at Asebu, six- unit classroom block at Sekyerew, CHPS Compound at Srafa, three-unit- classroom at Tsetsekasum, Rehabilitation of Moree market and area council office, CHPs compound at Dunkwa, public toilet at Putubiw , 3-unit- classroom at New- Ebu and a CHPs compound at Nkwantanan.
Mr Atta-Mends said 13 new projects had been advertised and listed in the procurement processes, adding that the list included the construction of 400- meter drainage system at Asebu Amantsendo, construction of three-unit classroom block at Batanyaa and three-unit semi-detached staff quarters at Dunkwa.
He said the district would have a Community Police Training School and that the site had been prepared and a sod will soon be cut for work to begin.
Mr Atta-Mends preparation was going on for work to begin the Moree fishing landing beach project.
He said the assembly was ready to assist any community that initiated a good self-help project and found it difficult to complete, adding that everything would be done to ensure that every community in the district gets its fair share in the distribution of development projects in the district.
He said by the first quarter of 2014 every community in the district would be hooked on to the national electricity grid and that 97 percent of communities in the district had been connected.
