District Assemblies urged to place culture at the centre of development.

Accra, Oct. 22, GNA- The National Commission on Culture (NCC) on Wednesday urged district assemblies to place culture at the centre of their development planning process.

A statement signed in Accra by Mr. Nelson Akatey, Public Relations Officer of the Commission, stated that two workshops were being organized for both the southern and northern sectors of the country.

The workshop for the Southern sector is under way at Elmina whilst that for the north has been slated for November 5 to 8 in Kumasi. The statement said the workshops would help the district assemblies to identify local industries and strategize for their development. It would also help planning officers to create employment and wealth for the youth in the districts through the promotion and marketing of their products.
