The Distinguished Scholar of Africa has held a power forum to celebrate and award scholars who have contributed immensely to the development of these nations.
The awardees include, Professor kofi Ayindoho,Nii Adjei Kraku II,Nana Ama Ofei Nkansah,Dr. Amin Bonsu, Daseebre Oti Boateng and KSM.
The theme for the forum dubbed, wisdom, power and scared values. A nation without wisdom cannot develop. A nation without wisdom has any real influence in the world. A nation without wisdom wills become the servant or puppet of other nations.
President of distinguished scholar of Africa Nana Oppong stated that the relationship between power and wisdom is this. In the past was defined mostly by the ability to force others to do things through terror or threats of terror.
By this definition the main instruments of power were money, violence and weapons. Today however, it has been understood that power is more subtle and even ‘spiritual’. It is not necessarily founded on large quantities of cash or weapons. Power, it is understood, is founded on the united efforts of smart and dedicated people for the community of nation.
Nana Oppong further noted that in order to achieve its goals effectively and sustainably, the intelligences of any given nation must mirror nature and be varied, organic and yet singularly directed towards one national.
He lamented that united intelligences as directed towards on great goal is the biggest contributor to the successes of the national endeavor. In the new search for power therefore, sustained and vibrant intelligent culture, science and creative opportunities; Not mechanics, not brutalities, not dictatorships hold the key to lasting power. As consequence, the old discourses of power as centering on personal strengths of individuals or on dependence on support or form so-called strong nations are no longer helpful.
He said each nation must build more nuanced paths and organic networks based principally on wisdom, on, cultur3 and on many, many incentives for individual s, institutions and communities in the country. Instead of gold, oil and coca as the measure of poor, it is the ability to (a) ‘“produce “to motivate and weapons they are not produced very by “power” terror or by accumulated cash but only by groups of highly motivat3d and very intelligent people over generations.
“Loyalty is achieved through the twin forces of additions and good laws. He quoted’
