Display spirit of volunteerism – Dep. Minister

Mr Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, has called on the citizenry to be pro-active and display the spirit of volunteerism, to facilitate change.

He also expressed the need for behavioural change and attitude towards sanitation.

Mr Agyekum made the call when he and Ms Mavis Ama Frempong, Deputy Eastern Regional Minister met departmental heads at Akim Oda in the Birim Central Municipality, on the National Sanitation Day (NSD) being hosted in the Region on Saturday, April 4.

Ms Frempong, said working for one’s country needs selfless attitude.

She said 400 dustbins would be allocated to the assembly as part of the NSD.

Mr Kwabena Nkansah Asare, Municipal Chief Executive used the occasion to talk about the assemblies achievement, which spans the completion of clinics, classroom blocks and two storey lecture hall for the Akim Oda Community Nurses Training School.

He said projects under the Urban Development Grant (3) are ongoing.
