Dismiss murtala mohammed -AFAG

The Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) is drawing President Mahama’s attention to the totally irresponsible behaviour of Murtala Mohammed, a deputy Minister for Information.

Mr. Murtala has said on a Ho based radio station that, ‘contrary to the view many people have, the supreme Court has no such powers to declare a winner of an election. That is not their responsibility. The only body that has the responsibility of declaring a winner of an election is the electoral Commission.’

These statements are clearly contemptuous of the court, calculated to undermine the authority of the Supreme Court, and incite NDC supporters against the court.
When his attention was drawn to his irresponsibility, instead of retracting and apologizing, Muntala Mohammed has adopted a rude posture, gone on an insulting spree of perceived political opponents
Murtala’s comments and behaviour even undermines the posture of President Mahama and the NDC leadership.

His arrogant posture makes him clearly unfit to hold the position of a deputy Minister paid with taxpayer’s money.

We call on the President to dismiss Murtala Mohammed as he is no credit to the government of Ghana and unworthy of the expenditure of public funds.
Ghana extremely deserves better.

Davis Opoku Ansah
