Dislodged traders bare teeth at AMA

Accra, July 5, GNA – The Coalition of Traders Association on Tuesday asked the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) to furnish it with information on where dislodged traders were being relocated in the Metropolis.

The Coalition said it had been two months since that AMA promised to relocate the traders at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, but it had not received any information as to when they would be relocating. “Now we want to know when we will be relocated; we don’t need further promises,” the Coalition stated in a letter on Tuesday to the Accra Mayor.

The letter was copied to the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development and the Greater Accra Regional Minister. Signatories to letter were Desmond Donkor, Chairman of the United Petty Traders Association (UPTAG), Mr Adu Boahen, Chairman of the Positive Traders Association (POTGA) and Mr K. Asiedu, Chairman of the Street Vendors Association (SVTA)
