DISEC cautions against unbridled use of Information Centres

The Bosomtwe District Security Committee (DISEC) has expressed concern about what it says is the unbridled use of the Community Information Centres.

It said if this was not checked, it could endanger national peace and security.

Mr. Edward Nti-Berko, the District Chief Executive, said the way some people kept deliberately misinforming the population was not healthy for the good of the society.

He said it was time the owners and operators are assisted to have better understanding of their expected roles and responsibilities as the nation prepares towards the December polls.

Mr. Nti-Berko, who was addressing an ordinary meeting of the district assembly at Kokoado near Kuntanase, said the DISEC would closely monitor activities of the Centres in the area to make sure that the right thing was done.

He announced plans for the construction of a modern market at Aputuogya to expand the assembly’s revenue collection base.

Touching on sanitation, he said they had taken delivery of six skip containers from the Zoomlion Ghana Limited to enhance waste management.

Mr. Joseph Assuming, the Presiding Member, complained about the growing erection of unauthorized structures, building on roads and waterways and said the assembly needed to act decisively to pull down all such structures to restore sanity.**
