Disaster Committee Gives Relief Items To Nkroranza Rainstorm Victims

Nkoranza (B/A), Sept 1, – The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has donated relief items worth about one million cedis to rainstorm disaster victims in three communities in the Nkoranza District. The items included three bundles of roofing sheets, 20 pieces of blanket and five bags of rice. The Nkoranza District liaison officer of the National Mobilisation Programme (NMP), Mr Victor Ameyaw, told the GNA at Nkoranza that the roofing sheets were presented to Abuontem Junior Secondary School (JSS) and Brahoho Methodist Primary School. He said part of the roofs of the building of the schools were ripped off during a rainstorm last year forcing pupils to study under trees. He said the blankets and rice were distributed among the inmates of 14 households at Nkwabeng, Brahoho and Abuontem. The beneficiary communities expressed their gratitude to the government for coming to their aid.
