Director of Education commends District Assembly

Nkoranza (B/A), May 17, GNA – Madam Phillipa Banson, Nkoranza South District Director of Education, has commended the District Assembly for funding mock examination organised for final year students before their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

At a management meeting of the education directorate in Nkoranza, Madam Banson said the Assembly spent more than GH¢ 4,000 to organise the mock examination for the final year students.

She paid tribute to the District Chief Executive, Mr Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, for supporting educational programmes in the District. Madam Banson expressed the hope that the performance of the students in the BECE would improve as a result of the mock examination.

She said she appreciated the support staff of the directorate gave the teachers.

Madam Banson said the directorate intended to carry out an inspection exercise in the primary schools to ensure that teachers adequately prepare the pupils in both their terminal and final examinations.

She appealed to the head teachers to continue to monitor the performance of teachers.

Madam Banson said the directorate intended to conduct periodic quiz competitions among all the basic schools in the District.
