Director in charge of quality assurance at NHIA fired

A Director of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) in charge of quality assurance Mr. Anthony Gingong has been asked to proceed on an indefinite leave by the presidency.

A letter signed by the secretary to the president Nana Asante Bediatuo dated May 9, 2017 also directed him to handover property of the authority in his care to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) by close of Monday May 15, 2017.

Mr. Anthony Gingong won the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party Parliamentary slot for the Bunkprugu constituency in the Northern region in the party’s delayed primaries in 2016.

Mr. Gingong a close confidante of President Mahama defeated a Lecturer at the University for Development Studies (UDS) Medical School and three others in the keenly contested primaries but lost to current Deputy Northern Regional Minister Solomon Boar at the December 7, 2016 polls by over 400 votes.
