Diocesan Guild conference opens at Agona Swedru

Agona Swedru (C/R), Sept l8, GNA – People in high positions should regard themselves as servants and not to “lord it over” their subordinates.

This advise was given by the Right Reverend Daniel S A Allotey, Anglican Bishop of the Cape Coast Diocese when he addressed the three-day 4th Biennial Diocesan Conference of the Guild of the Good Shepherd of the Church at Agona Swedru under the theme, “I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ”.

He asked groups within the Church to inject what he called “A deeper sense of decency” in their members who were many young people. Bishop Allotey stated that the youth, as the future leaders of the country, should be educated and protected against vices and diseases, like HIV/AIDS and urged Christians to lead exemplary lives for their progress and that of the Church and the society.

He called on members of the Church to intensify evangelism to win more souls for Christ.

An executive made up of l3 members of the Guild with Sister Cecilia A Dawson as the Diocesan Master Shepherd (President), Brother Alexander K. Gardiner, Secretary and Sister Lydia Bunna, Financial Secretary was inducted into office.

Sister Dawson on behalf of the executives expressed their readiness to promote the mission of the Church.
