Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has showered praise on Ghanaian forward Mohammed Kudus, describing him as one of the most impressive players in the Premier League this season.
The former Ivory Coast captain, speaking to Sporty TV, singled out Kudus alongside Mohamed Salah and Nicolas Jackson as players who have caught his eye with their performances and flair.
“I like Kudus,” Drogba said. “I used to like Nicolas Jackson because I saw a lot of similarities with myself. Of course, my brother, of course, Mohammed Salah, King Salah.”
Kudus has made an electric start to life at Tottenham Hotspur following his £55 million move in the summer. In just nine Premier League matches, the 24-year-old has registered five assists and one goal, emerging as one of the league’s most creative wide players.
According to Opta data, no winger in Europe’s top five leagues has produced more assists, accurate crosses, duels won, or successful attacking actions than Kudus this season, a testament to his growing influence under manager Thomas Frank.
The Ghanaian star will look to extend his fine form when Spurs face Chelsea in a mouth-watering London derby this weekend, a fixture that will see him come up against Drogba’s former club.
Football fans across Africa will be watching closely, as Kudus continues to establish himself among the continent’s finest exports in world football.
