DFID supports Dormaa District Assembly

Dormaa Ahenkro (B/A) Feb. 16 GNA – The Department for International Development (DFID) is to provide a sponsorship package of a van, computers and accessories and manual typewriters worth 245 million cedis to Dormaa District Assembly.

The computers and typewriters are to be distributed to the various area and town councils in the district to provide database to improve revenue collection.

Mr. Francis Johnston, Regional Facilitator of the Department announced this at the opening of a four-week computer-training course for 15 secretaries of the councils at Dormaa Ahenkro.

The training course was organized and sponsored by the Assembly. He urged participants to take the course seriously. Mr. Mike Atsutse, District Budget Officer, said the training was meant to strengthen the sub-structures of the Assembly through capacity building.

He expressed gratitude and appreciation to the DFID for the assistance and support to the Assembly to improve its revenue base.
