DFID assists pupils with school uniforms and stationery

Winneba(CR), Nov. 14, GNA – The Department For International Development (DFID) of the United Kingdom has donated school uniforms and stationery estimated at about 1,407 Ghana cedis to 78 needy pupils from selected primary schools in the Awutu-Effutu-Senya District in the Central Region.

The beneficiaries made up of 48 boys and 30 girls were in addition, given school bags and reading books. Mr Justice Haward, an official of Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Directorate of Ghana Education Service presenting the uniforms said it was DFID’s assistance to the pupils to secure better education and advised the beneficiaries to study hard.

Mr Anthony Asante Amoah, Head teacher of Awutu Bontrase Catholic Primary School who received the items on behalf of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the DFID for the gesture.
