Desist from building in flood prone areas – NADMO official

Sunyani, May 27, GNA – Mr. Joseph Blankson Nyarko, Acting Brong-Ahafo Regional Coordinator of National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), has cautioned the Sunyani Municipal Assembly against giving permits to developers with plots in flood prone areas. Mr. Nyarko was interacting with some residents at Nkwabeng North, Penkwase and New Town extension, all flood prone areas in Sunyani. He said that disaster prevention was a collective responsibility and called on residents to desist from silting and to help de-silt gutters.
