Desist from activities that cause fire outbreaks – NADMO cautions

Mr. Salifu Braimah, the Dormaa East District Director of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), has issued an urgent warning, strongly advising the public to refrain from engaging in any activities that could potentially lead to fire outbreaks as we approach the dry season.

He emphasized that NADMO plays a significant role in educating the public about disaster-prone activities to prevent individuals from engaging in such practices. Consequently, he urges everyone to abstain from activities that could cause fire outbreaks, noting that we are approaching the dry season and the weather is becoming increasingly arid. Therefore, even a minor error in the use of fire could result in a destructive outbreak, endangering lives and properties.

He also took the opportunity to advise farmers to prepare their meals at home before heading to their farms, as he considers this the safest practice to prevent fire outbreaks. He stressed that cooking at the farms could lead to fires that might ultimately devastate entire farmlands, hence the necessity for caution when handling fires during this time of year.
