Deputy Upper East Regional Minister involved in motor accident

Bolgatanga, April 22, GNA – The Deputy Upper East Regional Minister, Mrs Lucy Awuni was on Thursday morning involved in a motor traffic accident near Binduri, while on her way to inspect rainstorm ravaged villages in the Garu-Tempane District.

Mrs Awuni is receiving medical attention at the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital at the time of filing this report.

Three Journalists, who were travelling with her and received various degrees of injury were; Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed of “The Ghanaian Times”; Mr Abdul Hammid of “Daily Graphic” and Mr Abdul Issahaq of Metro Television. Mr Mumuni Ibrahim, the Bodyguard of the Deputy Minister, received a cut on the ear and bruises on the hands.

The Deputy Regional Minister’s driver, Akantalikum Builsa attempted to avoid a pothole and in the process the vehicle veered off the road and rolled over thrice.
