Deputy Minister supports Bonita Leprosy Clinic

Ho, Sept. 26, GNA – Mrs Dzifa Attivor, Deputy Minister for Transport on Sunday presented assorted medicines and items worth GH¢2,500 to the Ho Bonita Leprosy Clinic.

The presentation, which was upon a request by cured lepers of the Schoonhoven Cured Lepers Village, includes gauze, gloves and disinfectants to be used in treating the wounds of the inmates. She also presented 50 rubber buckets to the people and a motor-bike to the Clinic to be used by the Supervisor.

Mrs Attivor, who has adopted the village and had made two previous donations to the inmates, said the gesture stemmed from her belief in sharing and interacting with the less privileged.

“I have decided to do this because our people need some interventions and assistance but government alone cannot do it.” She promised to organize a party for the cured lepers in December. Mrs Attivor also presented some radio sets to people who appealed to her for them.

Mr Nelson Attitoh, Supervisor of the Clinic, commended the Deputy Minister for the gesture and said it was a great relief to the Clinic. He appealed to other benevolent organizations and individuals to regularly think about the less privileged in society and support them. 26 Sept. 10
