Deputy Minister re-elected to contest Bekwai Seat

Kokofu (Ash), July 27, GNA – Mr Kofi Poku-Adusei, Deputy Minister of Women and Children’s Affairs and Member of Parliament (MP) for Bekwai, has been re-elected as the parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He polled 80 votes, to beat Mr Kwame Twumasi-Ankrah, an Educationist, who had 36 votes and Mr Alex Agyei Acheampong, a former MP for the area, with 18 votes.

Mr Poku-Adusei called on members of the Party to remain united, focused and avoid complacency.

He said what was required of them was total commitment, hard work and sacrifice to give the NPP a resounding victory in Election 2004. The Deputy Minister advised the political parties to base their electioneering campaigns on issues and not deception.
