Deputy Minister expresses worry over moral decadence

Koforidua, Aug. 15, GNA – Mr Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, the Deputy Eastern Regional

Minister, has expressed worry over increase in moral decadence despite the proliferation of

churches in the country.

He observed that while the number of churches was increasing, the rate of immorality kept

on rising. Mr Terlabi was speaking at the 37th Annual Conference and Rally of the West Volta

Presbytery Women Bible Class of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Koforidua.

Mr Terlabi said: 93As Ghanaians, we cherish our rich and strong values on issues such as

homosexuality, lesbianism, sodomy and other moral practices and we must not allow anyone or

group of people to impose what is acceptable in their cultures in the name of human rights on

us”. He called on Christians to pay prayer ceaselessly for God to intervene in the affairs of the

people to end moral decadence in the country. Mr Terlabi said that women deserved respect but regrettably they had overwhelmingly been

treated with indignity, insults and sexual harassment by some men. He asked Christian women to be virtuous and support the vulnerable, distressed and poor in

society. Ms Victoria Boahene, President of West Volta Presbytery Women Bible Class, said the rally

was to propagate the gospel and solicit funds for development projects towards national

development.
