A deputy Chief of Staff has joined the mounting demands on President John Mahama to free the Monti Fm convicts.
The deputy Chief of Staff, in-charge of operations, Kenneth Wujangi holds the view that the three should not be allowed to remain behind bars.
The Montie trio were jailed for threatening judges of the Supreme Court with death. Since then, over three thousand people including ministers of state have petitioned the President to pardon them.
President Mahama has since forwarded the petition to the Council of State for advice through the Chief of Staff.
However, Mr. Wujangi told Starr News the amount of time the trio has spent so far at the Nsawam medium Prisons is enough.
“I’m not saying I agree hundred percent to what the Montie three did but with these number of people who have signed the petition, I think for how far they have gone now, they could be given pardon. The constitution gives the President the mandate to be able to grant such pardon”.
