Deputy Ambassador visits Nanchang city

Deputy Ambassador to China, Horace Ankrah, in a recent three-day working visit to Nanchang city, Jiangxi Province, finalised two sister city agreements between Nanchang city and both Accra and Kumasi. The Accra agreement has been signed with Kumasi tabled for February 2016.

The Deputy Ambassador also called on the Vice President of Jiangxi Science and Technology Normal University, Prof. Jingkun Xu, where the University agreed to a request for 15 Masters programme scholarship places for Ghanaian students annually from 2016-17 academic year.

The Vice President also promised to facilitate the establishment of a Chinese Confucius Institute in the Central Region to promote educational and cultural exchange activities between the two countries at the request of Mr. Ankrah.

The University also agreed to collaborate with a sister university in the Central Region. Next level of talks to involve a chosen university in Ghana and other stakeholders on the issue of scholarships will be held in March 2016.

Finally, Mr. Ankrah called on the custodians of all public institutions and companies in Nanchang to meet Directors of public companies earmarked by the Chinese government to invest outside China.
