Denu Prison-break: Aflao residents protest arrest of endangered 3

An attempt by the police in Aflao in the Volta Region to arrest one Kabila and two others was met with stiff opposition and street protest by residents.

According to information gathered, the three – together with some residents – were angrily protesting the escape of some suspects from police custody on Friday morning, claiming they helped the police in the arrests, therefore, their lives were in danger.

According to the three, the suspects were even wielding guns when they arrested the escaped prisoners, who were said to be on remand.

But their protests may not have gone down well with the police, who rounded them up and sent them to the Aflao Police Station.

This incurred the anger of residents, who burnt tires to register their disapproval of the police’s action.
