Denmark’s Queen Margrethe arrives in Ghana

Denmark’s Queen Margrethe arrived in Accra on Wednesday to begin a five-day tour of the country.

Queen Margrethe was met at the Kotoka International Airport by Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, amidst display of Ghanaian culture.

The Queen was accompanied by Danish state officials and a delegation of business executives.

Queen Margrethe will tomorrow, Thursday November 23, call on the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Flagstaff House.

Her visit to Ghana is at the behest of President Akufo-Addo, who is looking to strengthen and consolidate the long-standing relations between Ghana and Denmark.

The Monarch is scheduled to participate in a business conference, under the theme: “Ghana – An Emerging Market within Reach.”

The conference would focus on priority sectors such as, agriculture; sustainability and maritime; infrastructure and railways, where Denmark has the skills to help Ghana.

Denmark, through its Danish International Development Agency, has for many years helped develop key sectors and institutions in Ghana.
She would also, in the course of the tour, visit areas of interest, expected to boost ties between both countries.
