Accra, Nov 19, GNA – The Danish government has selected the Ghana Telecom University College (GTUC) to research into mobile health and othe= r related matters on users. Dr Osei K. Darkwa, President of GTUC made this known when he inaugurated the Ghana Telecom University College Lecturers Association (GTUCLA) in Accra at the weekend.
He said the advancement of information technology has resulted in th= e massive use of telecommunication gadgets all over the world hence the nee= d for Africa to look into the health problems they pose. The President said the university is on the verge of becoming the be= st Information and Communication Technology (ICT) institution in sub-Saharan=
Africa.
He appealed to the government to support the college through the Gha= na Education Trust Fund to facilitate the completion of new lecture halls, a= n administration block, cafeteria and ICT centre to enable it admit more students. Mr Thomas Henaku, Chairman of GTUCLA said members had resolved to achieve the set goals of the institution.
He said the association aims at bringing the concerns and welfare of=
