Democracy hinges on unity- Prophet

Esereso (Ash), July 16, GNA- Prophet Francis Akwaboah JNR, Head Pastor of the Christian Hope Ministry, has urged the country’s political leaders, to be spurred on by the visit of the US President, Barrack Obama and work towards genuine national reconciliation, peace and unity. This, he said, was important not only for the sustenance of the country’s democracy but to put Ghana on the path of prosperity and progress.

Prophet Akwaboah, who gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Esereso, near Kumasi, said it should not be lost on the nation that without unity, it would be difficult to achieve the development agenda.

He expressed dissatisfaction about the sense of harmony displayed by the nation during President Obama’s visit and said the fruitful political discourse among people from all the political divide should be maintained.

Prophet Akwaboah appealed to public officials to heed the advice of the US President to ensure accountability and transparency in the performance of their duties.

He called on Ghanaians to be law-abiding to aid the nation’s socio-economic development. 16 July 09
