Delegation of Kwahu Oyoko clan calls on Asantehene

Kumasi (Ashanti), 1 Dec ’98 – Otumfuo Opoku Ware the second, Asantehene, has stressed the need for Oyoko descendants in Kwahu and other parts of the country to unite to live in peace for the progress of their areas and the country. The Asantehene said this when Nana Asante Akrokoh the second, Atibiehene and Gyasehene of Kwahu Traditional Area, and Nana Osei Antwi, Head of the Oyoko royal family in Dokoman in the Eastern Region led a delegation of the Oyoko clan to pay a courtesy call on him at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi. Otumfuo Opoku Ware thanked the delegation for the visit and advised them to interact regularly with their clan’s folk in Ashanti and other parts of the country to share ideas and experiences. Nana Akrokoh said his delegation has established a machinery to mobilise and unite all Oyoko descendants in the Kwahu area and other parts of the Eastern Region. On behalf of the delegation, Nana Akrokoh presented a sheep and two bottles of schnapps to the Asantehene.
